WHAT WE DO

The CHASE team is passionate about child safety. We seek to increase walking and biking among Canadian youth while reducing their risk of injury.

The CHASE team includes those that are passionate about child safety. We are a like-minded group of researchers, academics, physicians, engineers, and community advocates seeking to increase walking and biking in Canadian children and youth while reducing their risk of injury.

We believe Canadian cities can learn from each other how best to design the built environment to promote safe active transportation to school. We engaged with road safety colleagues from large, urbanized centres across Canada with a goal to gain a better understanding of how the built environment plays such a significant role in the health and wellbeing of Canadian children and youth.

ENGINEERING

Explore the CHASE Tool

The CHASE tool reviews scientific literature on the effectiveness of built environment intervention to reduce collisions. Each intervention includes a description of what the intervention is, the types of study designs that were found from the review, the number of studies that were and a summary of the results found.
